This 34″x30″ acrylic painting features a young women with a shock of blonde hair that blends in perfectly with the stand of late summer field corn. This is another painting where I try to disguise an image within an image.I wanted the young woman hair to look almost like the tassels of the corn. I think the freckles also add to texture of the whole painting , Fun piece to create.

The Robbinsdale Minnesota fire department posed for this photo with this art piece that prominently features Thomas Hollingsworth’s helmet who was a Robbinsdale Firefighter who died in the line if duty. His helmet is draped in an American flag.enveloping Robbinsdale community scenes. This group of firefighters proudly shown here serve and protect Robbinsdale and I wanted to personally thank this dedicated group for their commitment to protect Robbinsdale residents every day of the year. Thank you guys you truly are amazing.,
Personalized Tools
This has turned into a fun exercise in hand lettering on an unusual space. One thing led to another and I have been requested to do a number of these when time allows. A fun way to spend time in experimenting with typography. I really enjoy messing with typefaces.
Flag Knot
There is something about seeing an American flag tied into a knot that is unsettling. This image was created after a question was addressed to me. The question was how would I could show visually how Americans are feeling right now. This is the image I came up with. The image does not take up sides, it does not have to have a description it just has to show a representation of a national mood. It is hard for me to look at but I feel it.
Pollinators
Between Earth And Sky
This piece titled “Between Earth Sky” shows that magical time of day on a midwest farm. That time where you can smell the earth mix with the cool air of the approaching night and it’s enveloping you like a favorite perfume, that time in between day and night . It’s where a farmhouse almost looks like a lighthouse on a distant shore right on the edge of light and dark beckoning you to come to the safety and warmth of home. The day is almost done when time is settling for a brief moment between earth and sky.
Rattle Tales
There is something about a Pencil drawing that is so satisfying. Maybe it’s because when there is no color the composition has to be done well to capture interest when viewing it. This particular drawing shows a late summer Timber Rattlesnake who is taking advantage of the forest floor to conceal himself very well. There is a mouse hiding very close to this predator. The old saying keep your friends close but keep your enemies closer, well this mouse has taken that advice, a few people have found the mouse in the art but some can’t seem to see it . I am thinking about making this into a puzzle but we will see, I would like to do a whole series of these.
Greener Pastures
This painting had been in my studio since last August it just was not quite done so I took the time before Christmas to finally finish it. Featuring a Holstein sticking his head through the fence hungry for the green grass just beyond reach. The Holstein startled a couple of other critters enjoying the grass which is much greener on their side. This acrylic is roughly 24×30″. A lot of detail which I enjoy and it makes it fun to look at.
Ghosts In The Attic
A London Bridge Story
This was a commission painting for a young couples engagement. They met by this bridge while in school in London and the goal was to incorporate the bridge in a piece to remember by. In creating the composition I added to row boats that are floating by the bridge but are not tied to anything on shore but are tethered together as they both float down the river together. I really enjoyed creating this piece.
A Glimpse
This is a painting with a view from the inside looking out. A rural setting featuring a young woman walking by. The view also shows a barn and a golden landscape. Just a painting that shows a a glimpse of an everyday moment. The key is what is captured in this moment in time.
Wicked Wort Art
The Wicked Wort in down in Robbinsdale officially joined the legendary bar club art collection with this art hanging in the establishment. What a fun piece to paint. Pictured with the art is the Wort’s owner Steve. This particular piece has a lot of stuff going on in the art that will be sure to have anyone that views it take a second look. The Wort is a favorite fun place to socialize with friends that features good beer and good food. A great place to gather and tip a few especially with the outdoor patio opening up with warmer weather.
